Current situation on remote unlock for BB5 Nokia phones?

What is the current situation regarding the unlockability of BB5 phones?

I'm having a real mental tug-of-war over whether to pay less for a locked handset (N80 or N95) or more to buy it outright. In some cases the unlocked is actually cheaper but itmeans forking out the money upfront rather than staggering it over 12 months with a contract.

Also can BB5 phones be unlocked remotely yet - either by yourself or by paying for a code to be e-mailed?

afaik they cannot be unlocked remotly unless you get the code from the network.

there is some bb5 unlocking software in one of the stickys on here, but it cant unlock any of the phones you mentioned
