Micro SD Card Advice
Hi, I need some advice for my daughters Hauwei Ascend Y300 phone. I bought an SD card and all seemed to be working well until the phone started playing up. The phone was basically unusable and it could only be the card which was the case when I removed it.
I've added the card again and erased it. Its a 16Gb card and its only showing as 245Mb so Im guessing I have to format it but there isnt an option to do this via the phone. I'm guessing I need to use the adapter and via a usb cable.
I just wanted to check Im on the right track seeing that the card played up the first time round or if anyone has experienced anything similar so can offer any tips.

It's possible the card has turned up its toes and departed.
I had exactly the same. 16gb card, bought from a big retailer. It began having problems opening photos and gradually grew worse until the phone couldn't read the card at all.
I've bought a new card and all is well again. I plug it into my computer a lot, where it mounts as an installer. I often used to pull it out and I've wondered if that contributed. I always do the 'safely remove hardware' option with the new one before I disconnect.0 -
As above maybe fake. Where did you buy it from?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I don't remember- either Argos or Currys. We have both next door to each other. I priced them in both and bought the cheapest 16gb one. I think I just got a bad one. It worked fine for about 6 months then gave problems for another 2 before dying.0 -
You are guessing right, but there are lots of other things that should also be taken into account while solving a problem, especially related to mobile phone and SD card. I got a chance to go through a post cheapmonthlymobile.co.uk/ and came to know about the importance of having a device with good internal memory. I would like to suggest you that you need to visit nearest mobile repairing center to get your problem fixed.0

Hello,
If you've bought the SD Card from a shop and not an ebay / amazon user, there's a very positive chance that it's genuine and it's just a formatting issue. Try the tool from the SD Association:
Search sd formatter 4.0 on google and it's the top result
(Newish user so I can't paste a direct link)
It's fixed formatting issues I've had with cards before

Sorry for late reply. I bought it from Amazon so Ill try to format it as advised and take it from there.0
