    Mortgage-free Glee!
Only had 2 myself, but in my professional experience as a midwife, labour with the third tends to be atypical, I have seen women really loose it, and lots of times just sit there when fully dilated not wanting to push at all!

Baby 1 5 days late - 24 hours labour. IV induction, two sets of forceps, many, many stitches. I thought I was dying  9lb baby girl.

Baby 2 - 8 days late.16 hours labour. IV induction and membrane sweep. My easiest - 8lb 5oz baby girl.

Baby 3 - can't remember!! 48 hours. progressed naturally until 7cm (piece of cake, I may say compared to oxytocin contractions :)) then, IV induction, membrane sweep - 9lb 5oz baby girl.

All babies back to back due to my strange anatomy.

    Good luck!!!

My third arrived roughly on time, but I did have a sweep as the dates the midwife had were earlier than mine. I'm not sure the sweep helped though!

Labour from start of first twinge to finish was approx 3 1/2 hours.

It was the quickest and probably the easiest of the births I had (still hurt though!!)

My 1st was at 39 weeks,
    2nd induced at 38 weeks
3rd tried to be induced at 38 weeks but gave up after 2 days of no effect then she literally fell out - had all my clothes on! sureal thing but easiest - obviously! Offical labour time on paperwork is 15 seconds!
Im always told the 3rd/4th are the easiest......hope it will be for you
  • All my little people we overdue...

no 1 5 days overdue - long labour but we had a beautiful little girl at the end of it!

no 2 2 days overdue - little boy - this was hardest labour - back to back - ouch!

no 3 5 days overdue - realised I was in labour around 7pm ish arrived at hospital around 9pm - baby arrived at 10.15pm lol midwife hadn't even gone through my notes and when I suggested to her the baby was about to arrive - she concurred and pressed the alarm to get some assistance! back home again at 2am! 5 days late was obviously a girl thing with my body!

Love to talk about this even tho am not on 3rd yet so not terribly relevent but my #1 was a little so&so (still is - ginger! Very bad temper), wouldnt come out after 2days (2 weeks late) and had to be dragged. 8lbs 4.5oz. Torn to bits down there, couldnt get up for 12hours, felt sick for days, on drips, so so ill. :o

#2 was 5 days late, told was large baby (9lbs?). Was size of house, very uncomfortable, sweep did nothing, had Braxton Hicks for a week beforehand. On the Fri evening Husband announced he didn't want to go to work the next week and wanted his baby now please, made me eat a Madras, then bent me over sofa, if you know what I mean, as I was too fat to do it any other way! The Braxton Hicks got worse, went to hospital midnight, baby here 7am! wasn't offered c-section or anything, born in 7 hrs, at 11lbs 6oz!

Was totally fine, had him stood up as convinced #1 was difficult as was lying down and anyway it hurt much less standing. Not 1 stitch, didn't even hurt first time I wee'd afterwards. Felt bit sick after but by 10.30 was sat on ward starving waiting for lunch. Oh and all I had was gas&air and my TENS (which had a loose wire and kept giving me electric shocks).

Today #1 is 27lbs at 2.5, and #2 is 24lbs at just 11months! #1 looks exactly like me, while #2 looks exactly like Husband. They wear each others clothes and cuddle up on floor to watch telly. #1 is adamant he didn't come from my tummy but is sure #2 did. :T

Incidentally, with both babies I threw up everything I ate from 8-20 weeks pregnant, to point of sleeping next to bucket and pulling over car to puke in hedge. #1 wanted oranges, carrotts and Topic bars, #2 wanted cheese & biscuits and softmints.

DS1 10 days late, laboured for 26 hours 8lb 14oz ventouse delivery - not good at all

    DS2 2 days early, labour 15 hours, 8lb 10oz, straightforward delivery

DS3 8 days later, labour 2 hours 9lb 8oz quick and to the point!

DS1 and 2 are now 9 and 6 and characteristic of both their conception time (DS1 3 years, DS2 - once!!) and their arrival and delivery, DS3 is 6 months, so we're yet to see

    Hope all goes well.
