I have downloaded the trial version of YNAB and have spent some part of this evening inputting all my bits and pieces.
Not sure I am getting how the money accumulates, but as long as I have it budgeted I can't spent it.
But at some point I will want to take some of those savings out and pay off some of my loans with it.
I believe there is some way of showing the loan amounts on YNAB, but that's for another day.2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

So far I am liking the new YNAB software, although I admit I can do the same thing with my spreadsheets, it's nice to have something new and shiny to play with.
Using the Budgeting software, I withdrew £20 of "Spends" money today...That made up for the £19 I used for the Ulster Folk Museum Trip from ym grocery money, so I am now reconciled.
£1 went into my secret purse.
I also spent £5.95 of grocery money on some quite blantant ME treats in the local bakery - Large Slice of lemon meringue and a chicken pie.
I will make do with what is in the fridge and cupboards for the rest of the week, until I get a new £40 grocery budget on Saturday.2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Still waiting for the Halifax to ring me this morning. I had to postpone it form yesterday due to a prior appt I forgot about.
Just really eager to get the mortgage into my name and start throwing money at it. Even £50 a month whilst I throw additional money at the debts will make me feel so much better!
I'm am determined to have the Divorce and Car loans paid off my December 2015 so I can start 2016 which a new drive to clearing the mortgage.2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Ahhh... a new member of the spreadsheet club! You'll fit right in here!
Nationwide BS current accounts have the ability to run "e-savings" accounts off them which are what we use for all our various savings "pots" - so far as I'm aware there's no limit on how many you can have, and the FlexDirect one even pays interest on credit balances too, which might be worth you looking at.
I do that thing of wandering around the supermarket adding up with my phone calculator as I go along too - does help to focus the mind on what's being spent, doesn't it! Those figures comparing Lidl with the other supermarkets are interesting too - makes you realise that Asda's claims of being cheaper than the others aren't all they're cracked up to be, too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi EH!! :j
yes, I do love a good spreadsheet!
Well Halifax called and then their system crashed...so I won't be called back now until Monday!!!
I can't believe in this day and age that computer systems don't have High Availability of 99.99% at least!!
So basically I am treading water until then. :mad:2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Made a right wally of myself today, crying my eyes out in frustration with work. Luckily I work from home and they could only hear the tears and not see my snotty red face!!
Anyway. Spent £7.99 on a large packet of wotsits and a 6 pack of beer to drown my sorrows!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Actually Nelly that sounds like the best way of crying at work, not disappearing to the loo for hours and looking all red, snively and blotchy when you come out.
Anyway enjoy the wotsits and the beer and don't go trying to list ribbon after that!!:D

Went to bed last night, couldn't sleep and my mind kept going back to earlier in the day and my meltdown.
Finally got off to sleep and awoken feeling much better, but still unsure about what to do with work.
The good news is, I am still keeping to my budgets and it's amazing how much I can save just be writing everything down! When I think how much money I have frittered away on silly things, it galls me!!
I'm still using YNAB and am working towards living on last months's wage...once I do that I will be able to start paying down the 2 loans and making some over payments!2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Hello
I'm a YNAB fan too. Sorry to hear about your meltdown, is there anything you can change at work to avoid it happening again?Proud to have dealt with our debt. DFW Nerd 1474
