Aye he's awfy guid0

I have been a consumate over achiever today
- Got petrol, went to the bank and went to Asd@, B&em, HB and Lidl
- Completely stripped down my aquarium in advance of laying laminate floor tomorrow
- Got all remaining kit required for laying laminate floor
- Placed 3-4 MB, £20 profit or so
- Tasty HM dinner of fishcakes (Rachel Allen recipe), aligot and cabbage
- Cleared out loads of cardboard and assorted nonsense
- All of Mrs E's Christmas presents have now arrived
- Bought a few more Christmas presents
- Put up new lightshade in spare room
- Considered a Lov3film subscription, it would seem to be the cheapest legal way of getting access to the sorts of series we like
Cream crackered now, off to read Monevator with a big mug of tea :coffee:0 -
If you do sign up to lov3film, remember to sign up via a cashback siteBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

- Returned stuff to Next
- Went to Asda
- Started some edigital surveys. Got bored. Will do tomorrow.
- Watched 2 films (He's Just Not That Into You - better than it deserved to be & Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - good film but what happened to the book?)
- Drank gin. Will probably do that tomorrow as well

Seconded :T.
The information you posted for my DD has been invaluable and you are responsible for her starting with S&S at the age of 18 :T

No pressure for the brilliance, ed, but you are, you know! Fourthed
Interesting about Lo** ilm - I think I do want some sort of subscription, but I really don't want to pass any money to the BBC, not after the cavalier way they used licence money to overpay George Entwistle's leaving money, and who's now back in their employ anyway
Enjoy your fish2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Enjoy your fish
I did not enjoy my 10.5 hours of laying laminate  Still, 70% done, hope to finish the actual boards tomorrow, will take another evening again for the beading etc. :eek:0 -
Deep in the jungle of DIY hell, payday has come around again.
- Money shuffle
- £320 to Emergency Fund
- £140 to S&S ISA (on top of our standard £165/mth)
- Work pension issue finally sorted, an extra £800 paid in and the value is now c. £12k
- Earned a £10 bonus in a MB offer last night, ended up being paid 50p for the privilege!
My future self is happy and relieved and offered me a big thank you for staying the course with the pension issue, which finally took 53 weeks to resolve. I had a lot of feelings reinforced during this period. I really hate work confrontation. I am tenacious when I need to be. Nobody cares about my future more than me
In immediate terms, I gained a pension boost of £2,000, of which I paid £650 (less than £400 in real terms, salary sacrifice avoided tax and NI). I've also recovered over £600/year in future pension (something like £14k + growth over my expected career).
When I look at our merry band of retirement wannabes (Goldie, KC and the people over on the pensions thread), I realise how important this is. Glad I'm taking the 'pain' now.0
