My best advice (and nobody else seems to be up so you may be stuck with me) is the spare bed and sleep with the adorable angel (otherwise known as whinging brat) sprawled on your chest. Does her teething come with worse than usual wind? My ex OHs family used to suffer badly with wind, you would not believe the things I used to do to try to get rid of it from DS who, unfortunately, inherited the tendancy. If she is teething don't be surprised if any carrots come out the same as they went in. A definite yuk. So if you have been reading this you have now both gone off to sleep out of sheer boredom! Happy New Year! If she isn't asleep talk to her in a monotone. It doesn't matter what about, the more boring for both of you the better.

Just to add - you are being trained. The secret is not to fall for it. The problem is that you are obviously a besotted dad - so basically you are scr***d. Welcome to your life for the next (what is your life expectancy?) years.

I love it! Poor you, Ed - but good advice from patanne! And your instinct is completely correct, you *are* being trained :) Happy New Life!

Interesting day. DD still out of sorts, but we're working to keep her entertained, snoozing and medicated as and when required. Went for a nice long walk to look at the fancy houses round about us, some real monsters! :)

Have started to use MFP to try and improve my terrible eating habits and lose weight. Haven't managed to meet my goal yet (3 days in), but I am being brutally honest and have started to make choices about missing out some foods, reducing portion sizes and keeping leftovers. The steak pie and dauphinoise from Hogmany would normally have done us for one meal and a snack, should be three this time round! Have also ordered an activity tracker and some cheap digital scales :j

Had a wee challenge with myself to make some OP money today with MB. Managed £31.22 over the course of the day (3-4 bets and a few ETs). Every penny OPed :)

Paid DD £50 that I forgot from Christmas, she's a rich wee girl.

Had prophetic discussion about lottery wins while walking down millionaires' row = totally won the lottery! :j

    £3.50 OPed :rotfl:
  • Hi Ed.
I'm just in the process of getting a tooth implant. I actually sat in the car and cried when told the cost. Terrifying isn't it? I already have one implant from 12 years ago (both old implant and new are to replace teeth damaged by orthodontic treatment when younger - the irony!) so am sincerely hoping that this is it for me now.
Wish Mrs Ed all the best from me.
    MM
PS. DD is training you! Without a shadow of a doubt. Been there, done that, still wearing the t-shirt!

Thanks MM, even more worried now :D

DD managed to sleep from 21:00-00:00 and then 00:30-06:00 last night, felt like an improvement. She seems a lot brighter this morning as a consequence :)
  • That is a good nights sleep indeed! Hope she continues the trend.
