I might look too as we need a load of new bulbs.smallholdingsister wrote: »Thankyou.
Off to look. We have been so busy we have about ten bulbs not working. Maybe this is the moment!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1931.07/£2700

We should get together a group buy for anyone who can't make their bulbs work in groups of 4! :rotfl:
I'd also recommend going with established companies like Philips. While their bulbs may not be the best, they're usually nearly the best and they have a global network and presence that means they're not going anywhere soon. This helps with any faults/replacements etc. Wouldn't go Chinese generics unless they're dirt cheap.
Our sparky has gone home. Redeemed himself a bit today, although I still wouldn't use him in future. All required jobs finished, although a few messy little bits to tidy up. I'd give him a 7/10, which is me being generous after half a beer.
Happy weekend all! :j0 -
Bulbs ordered. The same ones are over ten times the price in Mr S.0

Linky?
I am glad to hear that, suspect the kids of the future will be much savvier in some respects, probably far less savvy in others

Ed, have I read this correctly that the electrician is Spanish :rotfl:? If that's the case, I'm surprised he's managed to get the work done in the time he has. My parents have an apartment in Spain and have had a lot of issues with any work they've had done there. The 'manana' stereotypes are there for a reason.

Aw, you are lovely!
Doesn't matter about language though - not damaging fittings and making things level are about taking pride in your work

True. As someone related to many tradesmen, that is both shoddy and unprofessional. I'm pretty sure that a tradesman is expected to put right anything they mess up. As for the light...I would be asking him for a new one. (Not sure if that's acceptable or not.)Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20
