All sounds like good news.
Enjoy house hunting and hoping the sale of your flat is as quick and straightforward as it can be.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Five 3 bed houses under 200k there today in Bearsden!!
Offers over is currently +10%+, so 2 houses, one of which needs quite a bit of renovation :eek:0 -
Now you're going for it, you're *really* going for it! I'm glad you relaxed enough to have takeaway pizza2023: the year I get to buy a car0

TL DR - I get things done quickly once I have made up my mind
===
KC, I have always jumped between periods of frenetic activity and periods where I feel an almost tangible inability to make significant changes in my life. I have always wondered whether it was related to the black dog?
Normally I would be second guessing myself ('am I looking to move house because I'm unhappy with some other aspect of my life? etc. etc.')
This time does feel different, as the pressure/drive to move is external, from Mrs E and DD.
My attitude is very much JFDI. I do not see why we should !!!!!foot around once we have made up our minds to do something and I am mindful of the possibility of delays at either/both ends of possible chains.
The funny thing? Neither Mrs E or I can remember the conversation where we decided to move! :rotfl:
Part of me is glad to be proceeding as it gives me things to do (sad, I know) and I knew it was on the horizon. After the last year or two of ERE-level savings, I knew that I was likely to burn through them all on a family home purchase at some point. At least I will be able to see how bad the expenses of family life can be, will hopefully put my mind at rest0 -
Good luck Ed. Hope the process is quicker for you than it has been for me!0

Hope all goes quickly and smoothly on the moving front. You both certainly made up your minds and got on with things sharpishMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Photos and home report on Monday, we should be for sale by the end of next week0
-
Woo hoo! I'm sure it makes sense for you, Ed, and isn't a displacement activity. A couple's needs and wants are very different from a family's, and the ERE activities you've been doing will really help the process along2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I am envious of your ability to get your home up for sale so quickly. We are wanting to do the same, but preparing our house for sale, i.e. de-cluttering and doing the odd DIY job, looks like it's going to take a few months. :eek:Mortgage - £105,5000 -
Don't be too envious, I suspect Friday-Sunday will be 3 days of mayhem :eek:0
