I don't know what site you went to but in my experience at the 6 sites i have been to the pools have been open all day for free, the food is on par with local "wetherspoon" type pubs for both price and quality. And you get the type of people you refer to as chavs in every holiday resort, both here and abroad.

Presthaven Sands, we went first week of the Summer hols last year, the pool was open for 2 hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon the rest of the time is was only open for paid for activities, so yes the pool was open all day however not for free swimming sessions. I don't normally use the word 'chav' lightly, however, this place was seriously bad and I can't say I've ever stayed anywhere like it, there were fights just about every night, the reviews on trip advisor around that time echo my thoughts so it wasn't just me.

Have done many haven sites over the years and we are far from chavvy thank you very much! The kids loved haven when younger - Rory Tiger is awesome!!

My only advice would be, don't limit yourself to one site, monitor every haven site through their special offers webpage as they usually slash prices and so grab a baragain when it appears - we used to get a platinum almost half price and those are lovely caravans.

Also, our last holidays at haven we went private and again had some lovely caravans through doing this. Just google the site names with "private" etc.

Lastly, yes there were some rough families, but we never had any problems and to also stereo-type (sorry!) we purposely avoided the Sun holiday weeks as this when the parks would be full and also full of the chavvy people of which you speak - lol!

Flipper_72 - I can do 18th July & 26th August but I have to be in work on the Mondays at 5.15am :(. Otherwise they would have been perfect.
