Retrospective building regs for cavity wall insulation

Hi everyone,
We are in the process of buying a house, and the survey picked up that the property had retrospective cavity wall insulation applied on the property about 10-15 years ago. The surveyor mentioned that this is notifiable under bundling regs so our solicitor should check that appropriate building regs are in place.
The vendor has nothing to prove that building regs was achieved, and she couldn't remember who did it, or any paperwork that came with it.
What should/could we do, any advice appreciated.

The surveyor diesn't know what he is talking about. Insulation is covered under Part L of the building regulations which didnot come ibto effect until 2007. If you had CWI installed prior to this date, BR don't apply. You need to remind your solicitor of this.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thanks, I'll make sure the solicitor is aware of that0
