Hi Sethsgran
I read this thread last night, shortly before I went to a wedding reception and thought about the suggestion of table confetti when there was some where we were sat. That was in the shape of a butterfly and wondered if the boy would enjoy working something out like that by feel. Also the other item on the table last night was different shaped pebbles in a bowl. I don't know the correct name for them, but they are usually coloured and used in bowls that have candles also in them. They were all different sizes and I thought maybe the smaller ones would add to your 'pixie dust' bag.
Just googled to see if I could find the correct name for what I'm on about and have seen this. First hit, so don't know anything about it, just suggestion for ideas.

Further thought, since you've mentioned you see this boy at Church, would there be any weddings going on there soon and you could ask any of the couples getting married there if you could have any left over table decs like confetti to create this, for the boy.0 -
This explains a bit about a Pixie Dust experience in the Disney parks. Don't know if there's any ideas in this you can adapt.

Another thought I've had, is you can buy glitter make up sticks. Probably won't want them on his cheek bones since he's a teenage boy, but a pattern on the back of his hand, something like that would that be ok? No idea how much they cost, as my daughters came free with a girls comic, which might be something to keep your eye on if they are dear.0 -
Your ideas are amazing. Thank you so much. I will be taking some on board. XNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am truly blessed with my friends and family. I think of the words of my father in laws favorite hymn. One line is ... Because I have been given much I too must give.
I am so sorry that you have been hurt recently. Where possible surround yourself with people you like. Take care, hope next week is better for you. X
That's my life lesson for this week! Stop trying to please everyone including distant acquaintances, who aren't particularly kind or pleasant! I'm concentrating on my gorgeous little family instead! I hope the little lad loves the little surprise at church next week!0 -

How about stitching some little bells (the kind you get on cat collars) into the bag so that it makes a magical tinkling sound when he shakes it?0

If you want him to 'sprinkle' indoors then how about using cress seeds, with the instructions from the fairies to sprinkle the seeds onto some soaked kitchen roll. Keep the roll damp and every day, make a wish over the seeds, asking them to grow.
Or .. if you want him to sprinkle the dust outside then how about seeds for flower beds? You could use teeny tiny seeds so that they look 'other worldly'. Again ... with instructions that he must go outside now and again and 'talk to the seeds - encouraging them to grow'.
Failing that ... bird seed. A box of Trill (other makes of bird seed are available) ... with a little letter saying that the Pixies had waved their magic wands over the dust so that it made this magic dust appealing to birds. Pixies love all things in nature and so love to feed the birds ... and this special Pixie Dust is only given to very special humans who the Pixies know will be able to follow the instructions about how to spread their magical Pixie Dust.
Hope you find the magical mix somewhere in all of our suggestions! Good luck with your bit of magic!Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0 -
I was just wondering if you couldn't use something like demerara sugar, or even sugar crystals - that way it's got some kind of texture and it won't hurt anything if it's sprinkled outside. To make it even more tactile you could scent it, just put a couple of spoonfuls of sugar in a jam jar and add a tiny drop of essential oil or even food flavouring.0

u can make edible glitter by mixing sugar and food colouring, spread flat on baking tray and bake on low heat.
i have an idea but it couldnt go in your pixie bag . in most gardening places (including the £ shops) u can buy a bag of water beads, when you add water they swell up and are supposed to put them in with teh compast to give the roots another source of water, but i seen these at a wedding and we couldnt stop playing with them. they had them in big bowls with a few flowers. i dont think you would use this in any way related to the pixie dust idea (unless going with the seeds idea, sprinkle the magic seeds and then use the magic water or something? ) but it would be good for another time you have with himLiving Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Gosh so many ideas. Thank you all. I love the bell idea so will definitely go with that. He will love that I'm sure and will probably drive us all crazy in church, but that's fine.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
