Yeah, I'd go to my parents by 8am for a shower only they live 100 miles away so not sure I'd get back in time for school and I doubt my teenagers would view washing in a sink with a kettle much of an adventure, but thanks, particularly to 'Stebiz' for the helpful advice
Can't you go to a gym early tomorrow morning just to use the showers?0 -

It is not a 5 minute job replacing a boiler, it does take 2 days sometimes. Commissioning it and setting it will take a few hours. Would you be happy if they were still there at 9 pm and you were trying to cook dinner?
We had a new boiler last year and went with the firm that promised to get the job done in a day (cold winter nights, baby bath required etc). They finished it (just) by about 9pm, and did a good job fair play to em0 -
Great example of first world problems.0

I have considerable experience of heating installations. I have often left people with heating and hot water over night. Its just how it is and the scale of some jobs just means it isnt possible to complete on day one. It appears that what we have here is a failure to communicate. Nevertheless it isnt the end of the world. No point in wrecking the relationship with your installer. It will hopefully be all fixed soon.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I had a boiler replaced and a new hot water cylinder installed today, they got here at 9.30am and left at 4pm telling me they will come back tomorrow and finish off but have left me with no heating or hot water so none of us can have a wash before school tomorrow and when I said I wasn't happy about having no hot water he couldn't care less and just shrugged. He was rude and aggressive the entire time he was in my house, I'm not happy.
Are there rules etc on whether a gas engineer/plumber can leave you without heating and hot water? I want to know the facts when I make a complaint about his conduct.
Honestly, words fail me.
I want you to Google "Stephen Sutton". He's in the news at the moment as he's raising over £3,000,000 for research into curing the disease.
But you know what? He's dying. However, you don't see him complaining, and his plight is a damn sight worse than your own.
Get a grip and stop being so pathetic. Boiler problems indeed.
SO WHAT??????????????0 -
