The application page mentions that it is valid until 31july, so I would think as it's a 2 month card it would be valid from 2 months before the expiry.
You'd be able to buy tickets now for travel within the valid period though, just not able to travel before the start date.
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!

I got mine today, have checked the front and reverse of the railcard, and there is no start date on it, and the front of the railcard doesn't even mention 2 months, just a valid to date - so thames, if you want to book and travel anytime from now until the end of July with your family and friends railcard savings, I'd say go for it, as theres absolutely nothing in the T&Cs anywhere on the card which says you have to wait until June to travel with it.

I have purchased F & F railcards for the last couple of years and was always issued with TWO cards for my son & myself. This year, I applied and got ONE card only with both our names on - not much use, when he lives miles away & we rarely travel together with children/grandchildren. Which means the card is never where you want it to be.
I tackled the Railcard people about this inconvenience but they would not back down - they say it's open to abuse if there are two cards (I'm not sure how!) They carefully don't mention in the advertising that there will only be one card!! I realise it probably doesn't affect many people - but its worth knowing....
