I know, but get a group of dogs all excited and they won't be able to respect the people's part of the beach once they're having fun! Much better to have a reverse curfew - free for all before, say, 10am when you can let the dogs go for it, and then when you have toddlers and people picnicing dogs on a leash. Then run wild all after 6pm!0 -
We should be a little more understanding. We have to live in harmony and that requires consideration - and not everyone wants these noisy things running around our parks, demanding attention, making mess, going up to strangers, so they should be kept more under control.
Dogs on the other hand are great

Would that include weekends too?!I know, but get a group of dogs all excited and they won't be able to respect the people's part of the beach once they're having fun! I live about 50 miles from the nearest beach, but I would drive there specifically so I can tell the Jones' from Whitby to "stay, stay, stay, wait, wait, wait" all the time watching the clock for 10am, them and their DD with bucket and spade whining while we dog owners frolic in the fresh morning seaside air.0 -
Jokes aside, while out walking on the school playing fields yesterday evening, I let my 9-month old puppy off the lead for the very first time, for all of 2 minutes.
It was nice while it lasted.0 -

Oh I don't know. It's not my problem - I don't have a dog or kids and I don't mind dogs on the beach providing they are not so huge and out of control they are like being hit by a motorbike, or dangerous and aggressive or nick my sandwiches! It's great seeing families having fun - kids and dogs.
I think if you've got a huge and or completely excitable dog or one who can't resist other people's food then you'd probably not want to go to the beach when it was full, but you can't make the rules for the 99% who are considerate. You have to make laws for the 1% who need to be told not to be a berk! The rest of us would not do something that stupid in the first place...0 -
I don't like being accosted in the streets by strange dogs off lead. Unleashed dogs are dogs not under control, and No I'm not a dog hater. I have 3 dogs of my own, ALL kept under control in public places and any mess they make is always cleaned up by me....
If dog owners trained their dogs and kept them under control, the majority of problems could be avoided. Burglars are a different story. They deserve any bites they get.
