I a now at a point of buying a sim from sim4travel with its useage in European countries and some of the eastern block ie slovakia, poland hungary etc to receive incomming calls from 3 people in the UK so the number does not need to be circulated far and wide and will be limited to very short outgoing calls to the same 3 people. Text message will be made and received but in small volume, i would like to hear your views on the following points:

1.I understand it is a Lichtenstein based mobile number, is this easy to contact via BT or some of the cheap call providers?

2.Callchecker shows penny phone @7p/min to lichtenstein mobiles - does this mean a 10min call will cost me 70p if the sim receives the call 'somewhere' in europe and nothing is deducted from the credit on the sim card?

3.likewise what does it cost to make the same call from say Czech to a UK landline for 10mins?

    4. is it cheaper to buy the sim in europe when there or have them posted back to the UK as opposed to buying via the UK website?

    5. and finally are there any other viable alternatives to sim4travel which serve the same purpose as i have described above?

I look forward to reading your views

    many thanks

Paul I've regretfully deleted a long explanatory post.

All incoming calls are free in many countries including most of Europe.

It is possible to use this SIM in conjunction with another service to make outgoing calls for about 6 or 7 pence per minute.

The same other service allows people to call you via freephone numbers in several countries, at your cost, starting at similar figures.

However, my explanation will have to wait pending certain issues, of which the Board Guide will be aware.

Paul I sent you a PM (private message) with details from the deleted post.

Maybe this is the first one you've received. If you scroll to the top of the thread, just above the dark and then beige bars on the right hand side you'll see a box with Welcome, time last visited and Private messages - press that to access the folder.
