Gatwick Airport

Hi,

Im due to fly from Gatwick airport south terminal in November and im looking to get a hotel booked nice and early for the night before i fly.

Ive never flown from Gatwick and looking for a hotel that's with in easy reach of the airport train station on foot or by shuttle.

The main hilton is over my budget and was looking at the different premier inn's but cant work out which one will be easiest to get to from the train station? :o

Premier Inn North Terminal is the best one. Adjacent to the North Terminal and close to the railway station etc. And it is right by the shuttle to the South Terminal. If not a new Hampton by Hilton has opened
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Yes, even if you are flying from the South Terminal the Premier Inn is ideal. There are other Premier Inns and Travelodges at Gatwick which may be cheaper but they all involve a bus transfer to the terminals.

Just one tip - the lifts are always busy so if you are on the lower floors it can be quicker to take the stairs.

Another vote for Premier Inn, North Terminal. We're staying here in July and flying from the South Terminal.

Book early enough and you can normally get a good deal at Gatwick Central Travelodge. It's v.clean and comfortable with big rooms.

We always stay there, and also pre-book a two course evening meal and a pint (or equiv) for £9.95 each.

Here's a 'dummy' enquiry for a random date this November. £47.90 for a double with evening meal and drink for 2 people...

Central Travelodge is about 5 minutes by Hoppa from either terminal. It runs regularly, and drops and picks up right outside reception. You could also catch the Metro 100 bus, even cheaper, although it's less regular and drops you on the road just outside the hotel grounds.

So even with the cost of the Hoppa it's still v.good value.

If you want to try something completely different have a look at the Yotel, which is in South Terminal by Costa Coffee in Arrivals...

Another vote for this one. Stayed there last year and about to book again. So useful to not need the Hoppa buses.

Except that the cost has gone up. I have just looked it up for May 18th. The Saver price is £80 while the standard which allows amendments is £84. That is for 1 person. Last time I got the saver for £49

Probably because it's only two and a half weeks away. I got £29 each for 2 rooms in July, but booked back in February.
