I have spent 3 years living without stuff that many take for granted, a lot due to my own stupidity in the past but I feel like I have already paid the ultimate price in losing my marriage, my kids and all worldly possesions to have that extended a further 3 years is just too much to take. Its easier just to disappear, in my head at least anyway.
And this was the 'proper' advice that you received??:(AD March 2014

Pop up your arough SoA if you know what living conditions are sort of going to be like in Switzerland and people will look at it now an OR may view it.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Hi Tigerfeet,
I am afraid I have little idea of what the costs are going to be.
It kind of defeats the object though as my reasoning was just to go out there to ride out the BR and come back in a few years when it has sorted itself out.
IF I have to do the same over there as I would over here then there is not much point doing it as I would not be able to send my kids any more money and would not be able to afford to visit them as often as I would like.0 -

You would still be earning, it might be harder for them to prove what you do or do not earn but if they believe you have surplus they will go for an IPA/IPO.
I don't know if you ever watch Cowboy Builders on Channel 5, but they are currently doing a series based out in Spain and one of the cowboys was a UK bankrupt and because he didn't play ball with the OR during his bankruptcy he wasn't discharged automatically from his bankruptcy and is still a bankrupt in the UK after 21 years.
So moving to another country won't make things go away0 -
Ok thanks, that is useful information to know when considering my options.0

I don't have one yet hahahaha0 -
Right, first of all you need to know this job in Switzerland is going to cover all your outgoings over there.
When we moved over to the ME I researched whether the package we were being offered would cover all our family bills and living expenses. I found expat forums for where we wanted to go and asked about utilities, housing, travel, taxes, food etc. Switzerland is expensive so you need to be doing this and not going in blind. That would be exchanging one set of problems for the next.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
