Some general remarks on account admin

1) First statement date/payment due date is available on request
- in my case first statement will be 3rd August (about 2 weeks)
2) A direct debit mandate can be set up immediately over the phone
- always read the paper statement to confirm payment will be taken that month (if it does not say this you will have to make a manual payment)
3) Online registration of the account is immediate also
4) You can request a different statement date (not sure how often) from the outset if you prefer
5) Have been informed something slightly different again about the cash back on the phone - 90 days from first transaction [agreement states: 4% is given up to "3 months after your account opening date"] but going by what lisyloo says that is more likely 3 months from activation than first use of card...

[perhaps they'll print a date on the statements?]
