Should I go for this BT Infinity Deal?

Hi all,
After cutting back where I can and making changes to the services I receive, I saw an offer from BT that I receive from my Shareholder letters.
I'm currently with Sky Fibre (40mb Down/10mb Up), where I pay £20 a month and then line rental, plus another fee for the Anytime calls. This all amounts to £40.04 per month for Phone + BB. (TV package isn't being cut back on).
Now, BT are offering me the Infinity Option 2 package, where I will receive the 79mb Up/20mb Down (My exchange can receive this amount), and the Anytime calls included for £25 a month. Line rental is another 15.99, or £144 upfront for 12 months and then £15.99 after that. A £100 nectar gift card is also included in this deal.
Should I make the switch to BT? Sky have been faultless for me, but I'm currently receiving half speeds and connection drops, and as I work from home, this is crucial living in a house where everyone is using the internet. Many friends are on BT with no problems, although the horror stories online are putting me off slightly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If you have problems with your line with SKY, you will have the same problems with everyone. Because they all use the same physical line.
You need to report a fault.0 -

I have already called up and have an engineer due to come in to take a look soon. Would you say the deal BT are offering is better than what I'm receiving from sky or?0 -

I have had the shareholder offer of BT infinity 2 for a while - at the then cost of £21 a month to include anytime calls; and I pay the 12 months line rental in advance.
They have recently tried to charge £2.50 a month for 'call minder' and the same for caller ID.
I have declined 'call minder' as I have a built in answerphone machine. The pity is this doesn't allow a caller to leave a message when you are engaged.
Caller ID will be free to the end of my 18 month contract.
A big plus for me is 'free' BT HD sport on my Sky platform. That will be free for at least one more year; however it is inevitable that they will eventually charge.
As part of the package you get the full McAfee security package; which seems to be a mixed blessing according to some people - but it is painless for the computer illiterate!
The biggest deterrent for my family would be having to change email addresses should we move to another provider.0 -
Awesome, I assume you're happy with the BT service then Cardew?
I asked on the online chat and was told Caller ID would be free for the first 12 months and then I would need to pay after that, but with the saving I am getting from switching to BT from Sky (who had free caller ID), I guess paying the Caller ID fee for the last 6 months doesn't sound so bad.0 -

Personally I am happy with BT infinity.
I have the HUB5 which seems reliable and has good coverage, although because of the layout of my house the hub is in my study which is in one corner of the house, and coverage in the diagonally opposite corner(and one floor up - in a large house) was a little variable. I bought a BG range extender which solved the problem.
If you are 'out and about' a lot there are literally millions of BT 'hot spots'.
P.S.
BT, like BG seem to be like Marmite on MSE!0
