Which Steam Generator Iron ?

Forgive my ignorance, I'm not a domestic godess
I've been using an ancient iron that DH got in his student days- it must be 12 years old! Its cordless and you put water into it and it creates steam. I thought you we're talking about one of these.
Anyway, I'm very clumsy and find the cordless iron alot easier to use. Are these ones really good? Its about time I invest in a new one!July Win: Nokia 58000 -
A steam generator iron has a base unit with is a tank of water. This is heated to generate the steam. A pipe connects this to the actual iron, which also contains its own heating element.Happy chappy0

Interesting how both the posts you have made to these forums mention m2cshop.com0 -
The reason being that that they do appear to be the cheapest and its all about saving money, they do the Phillips GC8220 steam generator (best seller) at 149.99 delivered whilst amazon and argos are at 179, thats a cool 30 bucks saved, everyone should know I suppose to benfit, is this not what all this is about.0
