Which Steam Generator Iron ?

I managed to drop my Polit 5000R and have cracked the hand set which Polti want £70 to replace .

Does any one know what Best Buy the selections were in the recent ( June 2007 ) edition of Which magazine.

I am currently looking at replacing it with either the #

Simac dual Steam SX5000 or

Rowenta DG7140GO

Looking for the best performace rather than neccasarily the best price.

I have a Tefal steam generator and only bought that one because it had a 2 year warranty ,i have had it for years its nearly on its last legs but would buy another one when it stops working.
Oh dont get one from a market , they usually say they are returned and nothing wrong with them but i bought one from market and it had been dropped and was dangerous to use .
  • Another vote for tefal - around 100 pound but worth every penny

I'm on my 2nd Tefal and think it's great. I had to switch off the last one and wait for it to cool before refilling it. Not with the new ones though. My only problem is that the soleplate has got dirty and I can't get it off.

I thought I saw a cheap steam generator in a leaflet for somewhere like Netto last week, but when I looked online couldn't find anything. Has anyone got any ideas?

I have had a Tefal Pro Express for years. Got it at Costco. Wouldn't hesitate to go out and replace with same again.
