    Afternoon everyone

Haven’t been here for ages. Just more busy at work at work at the moment and that is where I tend to come on this site.

Had a bit of extra exercise yesterday and today as having to walk to and from Euston Station (1/2 an hour each way) thanks to the tube strike.

Only OS that I’m doing today is my meal planner for the days when I have to cook for girls and looking up a recipe for Monday (as that is when I try them with new things – next week it will be a recipe with sausages).

If I see a recipe that calls for cooked chicken or leftover chicken, but I don’t have any, how should I cook what I have? I generally have chicken breasts in the freezer.

More OS for me will be saving on the cat insurance if she doesn’t stop peeing around the house! Tried everything. One of them plug things to calm her down, putting another litter tray downstairs etc. She randomly goes everywhere and not just number 1s. It used to be in annoying, but sortable problems, like mats or beds, but now she is going on the landing carpet. It’s gona reek before long, can’t just take it up and shove it in the washing machine!

Just got sent an e-mail with offers on Frozen items. There are tshirts there which say Forever Sisters. Am so tempted to get one each for my little girls, but can’t really spare the money. They’re just like them as well. One blonde and one dark haired.

Time to face the music – this month seems to have gone on forever for me, I’m am so poor it’s untrue and I run my budgeting from 1st to the end of the month, eek.

Lemonbee – welcome! I need to be more strict as have loads in the cupboards. If it was just me, it’d be fine, but have two fussy children aged 5 and 3.

Nmlc – ooh, your smoked sausage pasta sounds nice. Can I have the recipe please?

Busiscoming2 – that’s always the way. I look back at pictures of myself even 5 years ago and wonder what I was complaining about. I would love to look that way now!

    Smoked sausage pasta

smoked sausage (any sort will do)
garlic (I use lazy garlic from a jar, but fresh chopped will do)
    penne pasta
    creme fraiche
grated cheese (I use mature cheddar or parmesan)
    cooking oil
    mushrooms (Optional)
    black pepper
Chop the sausage in to chunks, and fry gently with some garlic in a large pan. Boil a pan of water to boiling point and then cook the pasta. Whilst the pasta is cooking I add some sliced mushrooms to the sausages and cook them through.
Once pasta is cooked, drain, then add to the smoked sausage and mushroom mixture, add the creme fraiche and stir through over a low heat until everything is well coated in creme fraiche, how much you use is a matter of personal taste. Season with black pepper. You can either add the grated cheese whilst still over the low heat or add over the top once served into bowls/plates (this is what I do).

    Enjoy!

Thank you for the lovely warm reception!

Had a busy day sorting the garden, took the kids to the park and managed to get so much washing dry. It's been such lovely weather.

Going to sit down and meal plan, one more work day then a long weekend.
