Slow Madasafish

I have been with Madasafish for about 9 months, at first I would get download speeds of up to 2 - 3 Meg (AM on the MAX up to 8 Mb service). For the past 2 or 3 months I have been getting a very slow connection, probably comparable to dial up or worse, (about 20 kbps) which is sh*te.
What is the best speed tester to use, so I can try to be more precise about speeds. You can do a speed test on the madasafish site and it remembers your results so you have a record of how fast it was and when.
I read their online pages about some Digital Line Management or something that would explain this slow speed, and this may take a few weeks but this has been a few months. I am using the standard (free) Voyager 210 modem/router.
I can see me looking for a new ISP when my contract runs out.

Hi Davetrousers,
If you PM me your Madasafish username first thing on Monday morning I'll be more than happy to look into your line stats from our side to see if I can pinpoint any problems.
In the meantime here are a few questions:
1. Are you connecting from the master socket? If not, please move your router to the master socket.
2. Do you have a long telephone extension cord running between the router and the master socket? If so, please get rid of it and use a long Ethernet cable instead.
3. What security hardware are you using? MacAfee has an Antiphising filter that really interferes with speeds when it's on.
4. Do you have 1 microfilter fitted to every phone socket that's in use?
I'll catch up with you on Monday morning.
Have a good weekend.
Kind regards,

Hello, take a look at the speeds I have been getting (this is from the Madasafish website), Note how in October I was getting 3 Mbps, but since May it has been really slow, it will also cut out for a few minutes occasionally.
In response to your questions: I do have a Micro Filter at the master socket, (I have digital cordless phones from this, no other phones in the house are 'wired').
I do have a long telephone extension cable running from the master socket downstairs to the router/modem upstairs, but this is how it has always been configured, and in October was getting 3 Mbps (I accept that this will slow things down a bit though).
I am using Panda Platinum Internet Security 2007 for antivirus

Hi Dave,
I'll have a look at your sync profile from our end if on Monday morning.
I'm pretty certain though that you'll find a pretty good result if you replace that telephone extension that you're running from downstairs to upstairs. Broadband service will degrade over extensions. This isn't true for Ethernet extensions. The 210 has an Ethernet port and you can get a long Ethernet cable for a few quid.
Telephone extension cables will give you flakey speed results that will go all over the place.
Based on my past experience troubleshooting I'm confident that you'll see an immediate result simply by replacing that phone extension cable with a long ethernet cable.
You can check your sync with the 210 by visiting: http://192.168.1.1
+ Click on the Advanced link in the blue menu bar on the left
+ When the screen refreshes click on the new Advanced link that appears in the white part of the screen
+ The blue menu to the left will expand and from here click on Status
+ From the drop down menu click on Broadband Line
In the results look for what's listed as Line Rate.
I would be interested to know what those results are.
Kind regards,
