Happy Torty - welcome to Ennessdee Towers! Marmite will add you to the list of members on the front page at the next update, in the meantime, happy NSD collecting!

As for me, number 5 NSD has just thrown itself with the merest of protest into the Cauldron of Doom. I know it's early in the day but there will definitely be no spending today.

Well, I watched THAT song contest. It was won by an instantly forgettable song sung by a bloke in a beard and a dress by the name of Conchita Sausage.

I've bought another one supersaver, referred to as my red book which I use alongside A Girl Called Jack. It was used for a Mr S mag issue on being thrifty in 2009. I shall look it up when I get home (at cousin's house at the mo) and tell you what it is.

It's called 'The Frugal Cook' by Fiona Beckett. I plan all my meals using that and A Girl Called Jack.

    Hi,
I'm hoping to join you if I can please?

This is the month where I'm working everything out, and see what I spend and what I can therefore save. So I will only aim for five no spend days, and obviously increase it for next month once I know where I'm at! :)

Hi Happy Torty and a very big welcome to the splendiforous NSD Challenge!

    Please make yourself at home.
nargle is there a spare coffee cup lying around for Happy Torty? No,not the one lying next to Hubert's chamber pot!

Was Eurovision good then?I hope that Igor's turnip vodka and cranberry surprise punch hit the spot. You might just have the slightest of headaches this morning.

Don't normally watch it but Graham Norton had me in stitches. I have a headache too, due to the fact I didn't realise the surprise in Igors punch was an actual wallop and I didn't duck in time

Ohhh, must have a look. Now is it frugal buying cook books on being frugal? Or is that an oxymoron?:rotfl:

I wish I'd watched it now.I really like Graham Norton, but only really know him from Father Ted,which I know was a long time ago.

I'm afraid that Igor took the meaning of punch literally.:(

ps why not get the book second hand?I buy a lot of books off of Amaz-on that cost 1p,barring the postage which hikes the price up of course.

    Thanks,it's a great cartoon isn't it?!
