I am wanting to cancel my sky subscription and go to some sort if freeview although I like the record and rewind features of the sky box I would like to save money
I don't have an aerial only the dish sky put up years ago - will I be able to use that and is it easy to sort out?

Freeview needs an aerial as it is a terrestrial service. You would be better looking at Freesat, which will use your existing dish
.Humax make Freesat PVRs .

Are there any free boxes that you can watch Dave or Alibi on?0

You can cancel your Sky subscription if you're past the initial 12 months contract. The box will still receive the free to view channels which includes Dave, not sure about Alibi.
If you want to keep the recording functionality then rather than completely cancel the subscription you just ask Sky to downgrade your package to recording only which I believe costs £10 a month last time I checked.0 -

Dave is not Free to View on satellite, it's subscription as is Alibi .
OP the answer is no unless you get an aerial and a Freeview box as Dave is free on Freeview.0 -

Does your TV not have freeview built in?
I got risd of sky a while ago, and went freesat route, at the same time i bought an old cheap (£40) freeview PVR to cap things like dave and quest etc, so i'm able to get almost everything i want.

The OP does not have an aerial, just a dish. The cost of installing an aerial would probably be as much IG not more than a Free sat PVR.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
