I have recently bought an E-motion TV from Tesco Direct http://www.tesco.com/direct/e-motion-32-inch-hd-ready-720p-led-tv-with-freeview/416-3421.prd?
I want it as a spare TV for when the 'boys' in the house are watching football.
I bought a youview box from Ebay and intended to watch catch up tv rather than live tv.
I have set everything up but the picture is very laggy when watching on demand (so much so that it makes me feel sick)
Is there any solution please ?

Irrelevant if you are not connecting via wireless.
I am using TalkTalk home plugs to connect- same room as router.
Speedtest here
What speed do you get on a PC hard wired to the router?

You need at least 3Mb/s for Youview to work correctly, so your speed should not be causing your problem.
Try following the checks here and then contact TalkTalk support.
If they can't provide what you are paying for, you should be able to cancel penalty free and switch to a better provider who can. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Hi, its a brand new TV.
The Youview box has been working very well on a very old 'fat' tv but I wanted a bigger screen hence the new purchase.
I was wondering if the new TV needed to be tweaked to stop the lagging - is there a setting (as you might get with colour or contrast) that I can adjust, maybe?

You could have saved a lot of time and effort if you had said that before!
Perhaps it's simply a crap TV?

Cheap stylish but terrible quality picture
Everything about this tv was great apart from the fact the picture in normal mode i.e. no HD was terrible. The colour balance was so so bad and the sharpness was woeful. I have bought cheap tv's from Tesco before the Teknicka (sp) brand has been really good but this was shocking in comparison. Not worth the £129 and i had two just to compare

Disappointing picture.
I bought this based on the reviews and price. I was delighted by the size and appearance - it looks very smart. However, the picture quality is poor. I have tried every way I know to improve this but I've had no luck. There seems to be a lag and the colours are really bold so much so, that it has made me feel queasy to watch for any length of time. I must be unlucky as there are so many positive reviews. I expect I will be returning mine for a refund.

Ah, but the internet speed was a very good point and not something I had thought about.
Not being technically minded I wondered if the lag could be tuned out and, if so, how to do it.
I had read the reviews and thought that they were mainly good.
I think I will box up the Tesco TV and return it tomorrow.
Shame, I really wanted it to be good.
Thanks for the help

By lag do you mean it keeps pausing, that the sound / image is out of sync or that every now and then their is a frame drop? in the TV settings is there any mention of digital noise reduction or different picture modes? I had problems with a nowTV box on one of my samsungs where it would drop frames making it very jumpy to watch. I turned off the digital noise reduction and all was fine.0
