TSB current account - how long does it take to process application?
Comments
-
It can take up to 7 working days if they cannot verify you electronically to their satisfaction.
Here is the email I've received right after my online application:Dear Mr XY
We're processing your application
Your application reference number is xxxxxxx
Thank you for applying for a TSB current account. We'll email you to let you know if your application has been approved. If we have your mobile number we’ll also send you a text message.
You don't need to do anything now. Please remember not to apply for another one of our current accounts while you’re waiting to hear as we won’t be able to accept another application.
Yours sincerely

Thank you for your update! I hope mine will be open soon, too.0 -

I applied for a TSB account by chance at the weekend, I applied for a classic account but they offered me a cash account, I would be happy with any bank account right now, But normally my accounts seem to get closed a few days after opening. apparently i fail secondary security checks what ever that is.0

Sounds like a CIFAS marker on your credit file.
If you are not aware you have one or why get all three copies of your credit files and submit a request to CIFAS, then take it up with the bank who placed it.
Stop applying for accounts / credit until you have this resolved0 -

What is a Lloyds plus?
I very much doubt you having a account with Lloyds (now a separate banking entity to TSB) and a classic with one of either Lloyds or TSB (not clear in your post) has any influence on their decision to reject you for a TSB Plus account.
Suspect either your internal or external credit scoring assessment did not meet the level required.
I have a number of Vantage accounts with Lloyds and Enhance accounts with TSB and this did not stop Lloyds allowing me to open a Club Lloyds account or TSB allowing me to open two plus accounts0 -
sorry i did mean the club account.
i am happy with lloyds anyway. good savings rate etc0 -

You used to be able to add 'Plus' to LloydsTSB accounts; I had it added to my classic account.
If I hadn't upgraded to Vantage, I'd still have it.
Although 'Plus' is being removed w.e.f. 02 July 20140
