LOL Jonni2bad, some people might see that as a bonus pont but !

I like VH reply about the beware thing, as it does get the point across. The big problem with neg feedback is people get hot tempered and end up sounding awful themselves. I would never swear in feedback, it would have a worse reaction than the neg she gave.
Yes the feedback system is unfair, especially that non pyers or scammers can neg you while ripping you off - doubling the damage.
But thanks for that Vh - I was struggling to simplify her actions without rambling, you will make me sound sane :p

Heres one for the road -" Awful blackmailing ebayer, gave me fur balls" .
Hee hee stick with VH's I think !

I usually leave things like *** WARNING - ATTEMPTED PAYPAL FRAUD - AVOID AT ALL COSTS ***

That seems to be quite effective.

Then you can spend $10 on a Square trade mediation case to try to get yours removed. Be factual, but dont say anything that will make her want to reply or counter your statement - eg 'buyer lied', etc. Word the case so that she wont want to bother to reply. eg - "I will accept return of the item for a refund minus all postage costs, my listing and final value fees."

With any luck she will ignore it, and your feedback (but not hers) will be withdrawn for failing to respond to a mediation request.

Please click thanks on this post if that's useful...

Unfortunately I have had to post my first negative feedback against a buyer, this is what I put.

Appalling eBayer, strung us along re payment. Strike on its way to you buddy :-(

Thing is I know that they'll put a negative post on against me now even though I have bent over backwards to accomodate them, yet they still let me down.

I have just got my first neg from a buyer. I know i packed item securely, he says item received damaged. Can he now try for a chargeback and will he get it from Paypal no matter what i say?

    Hi
There was bit of a debate on here recently about if you could do a chargeback for items" not as described " Soolin will be able to advise about that. As for your buyer if the item has arrived damaged they should understand that it is not your fault and if you handle it reasonabley should have had no need to neg you. I have had a few buyers where I feel they are at it ,as the item was brilliantily packaged and in my opinion could not get damaged. In such cases I get them to post item back, refund them and put a claim in with the post office. Not ideal but you cant prove they are lying and as long as i am compensated , i can just about bear it. One item when it was returned really looked like they had damaged it but I could not prove anything.
They might remove the neg if you voluntary offer a refund - if not and they cant do a chargeback - stuff them they should have contacted before leaving a neg.In this case remember to do a reply like " item well packaged , buyer never contacted with problem ". And remember to leave a scathing neg for them.
Do they have any history of this at all ?

Hi Cat no they don't. I stupidly left a positive feedback once they payed, i should have waited a bit.

If they can do a chargeback and claim their item was damaged this means anyone can buy an item, wait for it to arrive and then make out it's broken, get a chargeback and keep the item as well..

The item i sent was well cared for whilst in my possession. I only sold it as i needed the money to help clear a bit of my overdraft. I'd be quite upset if they have damaged it on purpose as it was a limited edition...

    Hi Cat,

I think I'd be weary about posting a comment, accusing the person of blackmail (even if that's what the nutter did!). As an outsider, if I read your comment, I'd have a look to see what she wrote about you in the first place. Yet I'd be less inclined to check your profile, if you kept your negative comment professional and business like.

Something along the lines of "Inefficient, inept, inflammatory correspondence...would never do business with this indivdual again" might work.

In this comment, you've got a nice bit of eye-catching alliteration, whilst you remain (emotionally) detatched and stay business-like. Anyone reading it would only need to look at your exemplary ID history and see that you're a trusted e-bayer. Don't get into name-calling as it won't do your credibility any good.

Do make sure you keep any pet rabbits safely locked up ;)

This is what I got from the paypal site -

    What is a chargeback?

A chargeback occurs when a buyer asks their credit card company to remove a charge from their credit card statement. The credit card company will ask the buyer to provide an explanation about why they are disputing the charge.

Two common reasons for reversals or chargebacks are:
    • A buyer's credit card number is stolen and used fraudulently

    • A buyer makes a purchase, but believes that the seller failed to fulfil their side of the agreement (e.g. did not post the item, posted an item that was very different from the seller's description, or the item was damaged when the buyer received it).
How can a seller recover funds when a chargeback occurs?

What are some best practices for avoiding chargeback losses?

What information can a seller provide to increase the chances of winning a chargeback dispute?
Some types of information that sellers can provide to PayPal to increase the chances of winning a chargeback include:

Proof of postage or delivery, such as online tracking numbers

Copies of the original item description or auction description, including any photos

Proof that the buyer was already refunded
Proof that the buyer was provided with a replacement product

Correspondence with the buyer or feedback from the buyer
Any agreements signed or accepted by the buyer at time of purchase
Any returns policy that was communicated to the buyer

IT IS s under the section MERCHANT TOOLS - UNDERSTANDING CHARGEBACKS in your paypal account.Worth a read.
However DONT PANIC ! I think few buyers know about the chargeback process and they will probably not attempt this. If they did it would seem they could be susceessful but you would be entitled to your item back and you could claim the PO for your losses. This would obviously take time but means you dont lose too much. And just do a nice reply to their neg. It always seems these thinks happen when we are skint and need the money ! Good luck, you will probably be ok as they would probably have started a chargeback already.
