Hi
I'm changing network (EE - GiffGaff) on a SIM only deal, GG deal is much better suited to my needs. I've got my PAC code and the SIM from GG ................... but (there's always a but).
What do I do about my contacts, calendar and everything else on my phone, where is that stored at present (on the SIM?), if so, how do I get it onto my new phone.
I was going to post this in techie but I'm sure your good selves will be able to help.
Thanks for your help.

The iPhone does not store them on the sim but in the phones memory, they'll remain after the sim card swap over.0 -

BUT (big but!)
Is your iPhone unlocked or did you buy it through EE?
If it needs unlocking you will have to ask EE to do it and pay around £25 (?) and wait for absolutely ages (3/4 weeks?)
If you need to go through this tedious process, may I suggest that you don't use the PAC till the unlock is done, that may be easier than the mess of waiting.0 -
There are ways to unlock an iphone 4 for free. The guides are available on the giffgaff website which may help you if your phone is currently locked.

That info is very much outdated (Free Method), although its correct i would be surprised if anyone is still on the required firmware version:beer:0 -
The phone was bought direct from Apple so I assume this means the GG sim card will work fine.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

As long as it was bought for full price sim free (without a contract or a PAYG sim included) it will be unlocked for any simcard.====0 -
It was my DS phone which I inherited. I had an Orange contract in my name for his use, it included a phone which he used for about a year. He wanted an iPhone tho so he bought it direct from Apple, he got the original sim card cut down and put it straight into the iPhone.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
