As for parked illegally what statutory laws have been broken?

Well if you'd acted intime and appealed to POPLA then you would have won the appeal and paid nothing.
All you can really do now is continue ignoring until you get a Letter Before Action from the landowner or their solicitor.

In the meantime complain to the landowner and try and get them to cancel it.

I see your new to all of this.
First of all theres no laws that have been broken, and no he/you wont have to pay.
If you can provide any puictures of the signs, or scans of any documentation ( with identifying bits removed such as name address, reg no, ticket number, popla number bar codes or qr codes etc etc then that would be helpful
Also the full wording of any ticket or other correspondence.
Plus any parking policy at the college/uni etc etc

You said that the notes state he was parked illegally do they really state this?

I have the name of the street in Bristol and I have had a quick look on google and I am pretty sure it is council owned it is called Horton street Bristol BS2 0JY
    Thanks

If this is the case then get this confirmed by the council, if they say it is then complain to trading standards, the council highway dept, the dvla and the bpa. This would be fraudulent if true

it states on the letter that is is contravention F - vehicle was not authorised to use the car park

but as I previously said he was not parked inside the car park he was parked outside the parking enclosure next to the pavement.

Yep we know it has the appearance of a road but that doesn't make it public highway, it could well be a private University road.

Ignore them like we did for years before POPLA existed - he is silly because he's missed the trick of POPLA. Too late for that now to cancel it so sit tight and update this thread (don't start another one!!) if MBW send a letter before claim.

Please, please, don't update every time you get another DRP letter. Please, don't post an 'eeek' when you get the next colourful/bold font 'scary' epistle form Zenith! If you read the NEWBIES thread post #4 at the top of this forum, all about tediously boring debt collector letters to ignore, you will see why I say that. If you search this forum for 'Recovery' you will also find out why I beg people not to start new threads about DRP letters. Please spare us our Groundhog Day again - one search and you'll be reading about these letters until Christmas and to be frank, we've seen enough threads about the letter chain, thanks in advance for searching & reading about the letters rather than posting about them!

Finally this needs merging with your original thread so please send a pm to Crabman to ask. Do update later on IF you get a letter from MBW themselves!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
