Exceeding data allowances in UK - networks?
I've just come to the end of a decent deal with t-mobile, and I'm going down the Moto G plus cheap monthly sim route.
I can get away with "just" 500mb of data as I spend most of my time connected to wifi, and having just left a 750mb contract I know enough about my data usage to be sufficiently parsimonious with it.
My experience with t-mobile has been good - on the times when I've had reason to get close to exceeding my data cap (and on one occasion actually exceeded it), they simply throttled back the bandwidth and allowed email traffic only through. No excess charges, a sensible approach.
The best options for me seem to be either Three's £6.90 offering or VirginMobiles £7.00 offering. Both allow 500Mb of data, and more than enough calls / SMS for my needs.
Does anyone know what the policy of either of these is for exceeding data allowances? I've read that Virgin switch you onto a £1 per day rate (perhaps OK if I do this on the 29th of the month once per year, but not if I go over on 15th of the month!) and I can't find any info about Three. Ditto, other Virtual Mobile Network operators.
Any help gratefully received!

Three's website states very clearly they charge 10p per MB outside your allowance0

Is it only t-mobile then that operate their really sensible policy (it seems) of never letting you use excess data, therefore never being in a position of needing to surcharge for it? I must admit I expected that, given all of the furore around surcharging over the last couple of years, the market would have calmed down and realised that prevention at source is better than charging for difficult to track excesses.0

T Mobile have changed now. I renewed a sim only deal in feb and my last bill had a surcharge for going over the data limit. First time I have had to pay this on T Mobile.
The terms and conditions link on the web site is broken. I had to ring to enable data allowance notifications on my account. You can't set them in store or via the website0
