Thailand flights for Honeymoon price jump

Hi,
We are looking to book flights for our honeymoon and were really happy when we found we could get flights from Birmingham/ Manchester to Phuket for around £1,050 return with Emirates and Etihad (one stop) these flights are in Feb 2015 but we arnt getting married until early March 2015, the flights have finally become available but have jumped up to £1500. We expected some price differences but another £500 for the same flights a month later seems a big difference. Could there be anything causing the flight to be more, (no school holidays) or is it just one of those things? I don’t want to wait too long to book and risk a late deal because we have enough to worry about.
Thanks
Kelly

Half term is in February that might be why.0

Yes, I've been to Thailand a few times and those prices seem really really expensive, so I to think half term might have something to do with it.0

I think you may be better trying to fly from Heathrow as you have many more options for connections. I've just looked at 8th March 2015 flying to Bangkok direct with BA returning on the 22nd March and that is £678. There are good connecting flights with Bangkok Airways direct to Phuket for £100. If you fly with Bangkok Airways you can use their lounge at the airport free of charge even with economy tickets which gets you free food and drink and free wifi so a three hour connection is actually quite pleasant. Even with the travel to Heathrow you will be saving a great deal!0

I presume the price of £1500 is for two people otherwise it is very, very expensive. You could fly Premium Economy on BA for less than that.
Personally, rather than just doing Phuket I'd recommend adding 2-3 nights in Bangkok at the start or end of the trip.0 -
Or you could fly with Swiss via Zurich 8th-22nd for £625. Have to agree with the stop over in Bangkok suggestion, really is a must see. Phuket is nice but Bangkok is facinating!!0

Thanks for everyone's replies
Sorry yes it is £1500 for both of us return ( I know its not that expensive, its just that it is a 3rd more than Feb)
Wouldn't it be more expensive in Feb due to half term?
I know Heathrow has a lot more flight options but it also adds a lot more traveling time on to the journey, and because Manchester/Birmingham are so much closer its a lot more suitable for us (especially for my OH, who I slightly daunted about the travel time already)
This we be my 4th visit to Thailand (I love it there) but Bangkok really doesn't appeal, we're not city people and we are happier sitting on beach, and a quiet little restaurant.- Don't worry we're not staying in Patong
Thanks for everyone's input, recon just going to have to juggle the budget and find a few more pennies for our perfect honeymoon x0 -
Can I suggest you look at Monmodo for flights?
Really good sign up service you can use, which monitors prices for your flights.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
