Family Mobile ????? - Are they real?

Maybe it is just me, but I cannot get any contact from Family Mobile from whom I purchased a SIM card with £10 top up, 10 days ago.

The SIM has not yet been delivered, and I do not get any reply to emails, sent to them.

The "My Account" area of their website returns an "Internal Error 500" message when I attempt to log in. I have requested new passwords on 2 occasions in case it was my fault, but these do not work either, returning the same error code.

I tried phoning them, and waited in the queue for 30 minutes (at 6p a minute from my landline), but then requested a call back, left a message and hung up.

I am still waiting on a call back.

Anyone else had recent experience of them? Is it a scam?

    I don't think it is a scam.

It has changed ownership recently, so when I saw your post I did wonder for a moment if some system changes might be happening, causing temporary glitches, but I have been able to log in with no problem at all

It is possible that the SIM has been held up in the post with it being a holiday weekend last week, and the reason I cant log in is because the SIM may have to be activated first before I can use "My Account".

No excuse for not returning customer calls/emails though.
  • Working fine for my mum last week.... we topped it up on line too. She's had the sim a while

There's an unverified number for http://www.yourfamilymobile.co.uk/ at say no to 0870 quote follows
    "Ikea family Mobile
    Original No: 0843 523 5566
    Landline No: 01775 761064
this is the land line number they called me back on the company is actually called smarter mobile ltd"

May help if you have free minutes to landlines, of course cannot be 100% of the number but might be worth a try.

I have just tried the landline number you gave, and was put through instantly to a very helpful lady who said she was on top of the problem re the non delivery of the SIM card. It should go out to me today or tomorrow.

As for the "My Account" part of the website not working - it is because the SIM is not yet activated that I cannot access it.

So, all sounds better than it did this morning. I do think a previous poster is correct. There was no office background noise and I suspect there was only one Customer Service lady !

Glad I could help, always worth checking to see if there's a landline number at saynoto0870 or just googling the non geographic number.

Hopefully posting it here will help anyone else who has a similar problem, thank you for letting us know you got a good result :D
