True, most people do bring a bottle or a few cans but I will get the starter beer and a couple of bottles of wine, pop for the kids / mixers and will make a punch.

I do still have a few essential like I said still to buy also like buns, rolls, salad, cheese slices etc so that will eat into the money and also not sorted out deserts yet either - oh eck, no idea what to do for that. Do cupcakes/fairycakes freeze? could make some and bung in the freezer.

Cupcakes and fairy cakes freeze fine as long as they don't have icing or butter icing on them. If you want them iced/buttercreamed (is that a word?) you'll need to do that after defrosting.

oh yes won't do the frosting until they have defrosted if I do freeze them. Thank you
