O2 Upgrade - A Bit Confused, Advice Please

Hi All,

I am currently on the old O2 tariff of 400mins 100 txt for £35 per month (via store, 12mth). I upgraded in the middle of May to a SE K800i which Im quite happy with. Received a letter from O2 this morning saying that I'm entitled to a free upgrade or £75 credit on my account.

I telephoned the 0800 number given on the letter and spoke to a very nice lady who said I was very lucky and could still have the 2nd upgrade (potentially this means I would have 2 new handsets within the last 6wks).

She fired off all sorts of offers at me, even a sim only deal at 400min 500txt for £20 pm which apparently is on a 30day contract. However, if I were to take one of these deals offered I would lose my free non-geographical numbers, which are included in my current tariff. I use 0844 quite a lot to call my mother who lives abroad for example.

What would you all do? Would you take the 2nd new handset and lose your non-geographical allowance or leave things as they are?

where does your mother live? you could probably call her for cheap using 18866 or 1899 or one of those companies.
depending on what phone they offer you I would probably take it and flog it on ebay. the £35 you're paying at the moment is quite expensive. i'd ask if they could reduce it down. if not u're still getting £100+ from the sale of the new phone (if that's what u decide to do)

With the choice between selling or losing, I'd sell and bank the money.

Then again I don't make any non-geo calls from my mobile, I use saynoto0870.com to ind the geo number of use my landline for 0844 calls. I think the saving could be greater, unless you really hit the non-geos a lot and are likely to make £9 or more of non-geo calls a month, in which case keep the non-geo contract.
Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm also on a discount with the exisiting tariff until next month. I used to use 1899 to call my mother, but stopped when I found out I could use inclusive mobile minutes. My head is telling me to take the additional handset and sell it on like you suggest.
