ANPR LTD Ticket for stopping whist in car....

Hi,
Today I received a parking charge notice while I was waiting for a friend to come down to my car on Water Street in Spinningfields, Manchester, just next to Leftbank apartments. I was in the car and my engine was running, when a man came over and started taking pictures of my car. I got out and asked what he was doing and he said I was getting a ticket for stopping in a no stopping zone. He pointed to a small A5 sign on the wall of a building to the left, which I had not previously noticed. He also claimed I was parked on a bend which was 'dangerous'. As far as I was aware this was a public road, you turn left from quay street and at no point is it obvious that it becomes private property. The ticket claims 'compensation in the form of liquidated damages'.
I have read the newbies post and there is a lot of info on there regarding not admitting you are the driver, however the man handed me the ticket and has pictures. Also, as I was pulled up on a bend, does this mean it is unlikely that I would will an appeal? I can see a lot of posts regarding what a dodgy company they are, however I just wanted advice to check that I would have a case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Laura

Stay calm, you're dealing with the jokers in the pack. Follow guidance on here and you won't come to any 'harm' with ole Trev's outfit. You'll be getting a raft of papers from him, a lot just don't make any sense, so if you can read them in the context of them being verbal nonsense, you'll soon start to see them for the joke they are.
The NEWBIES sticky will take you through this step by step.
First though is don't make any approach to ANPR Ltd until you get the Notice to Keeper (NtK) between days 29 and 56 after the date of the parking event. In fact plenty of time for you to read the NEWBIES sticky and also to read other threads about Trev and his gang! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Here's someone who's had the very same experience at the same Spinningfields location. You can see where he's up to.

Maybe you want to PM him and keep in touch as both your cases progress?

Another Trev the ex clamp thread
you have this well handled I think Laura, when you get the NtK from them send the letter in the newbies thread.
Meanwhile for light entertainment just google Trevor Whitehouse , and read the above thread and the links therein .When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Hi,
I've sent them the template letter off the newbies thread and I'm going to send them another strong one after my reply. Then I'm going to go through POPLA and complain to the DVLA and spinning fields0 -

Excellent strategy!
But please, when you do write your follow up letter to oor Trev, don't use too many long words - they'll be wasted! :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
