It's so exciting to get the letters isn't it! You should wallpaper the loo and send your bank manager a photo of it as you're going along :D

We don't have any overpayment charge (Nationwide) providing that we overpay by less than 10% of the purchase price in each year. We also have to pay over £500 in one go to get it taken off the term, otherwise it comes off the next payment, which is pointless. Have you done a graph of the mortgage yet? DH did one and it's so nice to see the 'money owed' line drop like a stone with every month we pay and overpay.

I know Martin has a thing about not focusing on buying and being happy with renting, but I have to say we had some truly awful experiences in rented accommodation, and now we've got our own hard-earned place, I would never go back to living in someone else's house again.

We can send them whatever we like as long its not in payment window. Wish they would be quicker with the letters though, by time we get letter I already paid more !!

Its under my skin now, I get a wee bit obsessive x

Chillax, it's the weekend, a long one at that...kick back and pour yourself a glass of something you fancy!:D

MY OH has given me a glass of red and brain numbing has started - it was a teetotal week so its working very nicely.

MY OH does not really have bank holidays off - he was not even on call this week but he was still dealing with incidents, one night until 10 o'clock this week
Oh well you cant expect a good salary without having to work for it :D

I love my NRAM mortgage I can overpay as much as I want. It's about £300ish a month but I increased SO to £1000. I think I have about 6 years left. I'm trying to blast it so I'm mortgage free by 40 (4 years left)
