Valencia is a brilliant night life, no idiots and plenty of good bars. L

Valencia is a good choice if you want something more than just "beach and booze" and it's a lot cheaper than Barcelona.

As others have already stated for more guaranteed weather you need to consider the canaries. Playa de las Americas or Los Cristianos in Tenerife, Puerto Rico or Playa del Ingles Gran Canaria, Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote and possibly Corralejo in Fuerteventura.

You said Benidorm was a big no no, which I can understand as it's not for everyone but is there a particular reason? If it's too brits abroad for you then although the other resorts are more low rise and less built up than benidorm they are still very british and very much aimed at the bucket and spade, pie and chips brigade. (nothing wrong with that but depends what you want from your holiday).

The only issue with the canaries is that due to easter the prices will be extortionate as everyone will be wanting to get the good weather. If you were willing to take more of a chance with the weather then consider Southern Spain or the Algarve, which both should be pretty reasonable.

At that time of year anywhere in Europe will be a gamble on the weather front. Could be ok in southern europe but can also be fairly cool.

Sharm is a different world to the rest of Europe, has no history and is manufactured for the tourist industry. I've been twice but both were just short breaks and was about having warm waters so stayed in the resort rather than venturing out to the night life. Whilst it is a muslim country its much more tolerant than others.

Anywhere in the tropics will be hot, just need to check the rainy/windy seasons. Obviously somewhat depends on what sort of budgets you had in mind
