Baby boys clothes

Hi,
Thanks for all the responses, I find it interesting that some people won't have second hand for there children, I have just had my 2nd daughter and due to deciding to have no more children after my first daughter I had no clothes to pass on to her, so I have only bought her second hand clothes off eBay/Facebook. The only new stuff she's had has been from family and friends and has we have very few of both I think it's meant maybe 1-2 items in each size upto 6-9 months.
On the groups I am a member the girls stuff sells really fast often for more then the original asking price but not the boys stuff. I guess I cld go down the eBay route but after fees and a small selling price I'm not sure I can be bothered, there's also all the hassle of taking it to the post office! Especially now they take a % of the postage.0 -
I think it's because people like to dress up their girls like pretty dolls whereas they're happy to shove a boy into a plain baby-gro. You'll find the same if you go into clothing shops. Racks and racks of clothes for girls, with the boys stuff pushed into a few aisles in the corner.0

I know that the stuff I put up is in v good condition and that its not over priced, as I price my girls stuff the same and that sells, the latest bundle is 20+ items of 6-9 mth clothes which I'd like £10 for which isn't in my opinion excessive!!
Has anyone else found this?
hi, when you put them on facebook how do you present the items?
folded bundle neatly ironed? Spread out so you can see whats there? Do you have some good brands and do you mention them. I use a phone app called photo grid or similar so you can take a a few photos and put them on one photo to upload?

i gave lots of my first daughter stuff to a hospital unit i think it was special baby care , my daughter was a prem baby so we had to go get her few bits as she was tiny and these were really appreciated at the hospital as they are expencive and not worn for long
a couple of years before me my friend had to by dolls clothes for her daughter as she was tiny tiny (a midwife told her thats what people did as not any tiny clothes about ) it cost my mate an arm n leg but the kids played with the clothes with there dolls when older lol0 -
First time mum here and probably one of the 'precious' ones you will all judge for buying expensive things for baby!

Personally, I am not against having second hand clothes for my baby. I will gladly and gratefully receive them from any friends or family who pass them my way. What I hadn't really thought about doing was buying them.
I have actually looked at some bundles on eBay etc and the main thing that puts me off buying them is not being able to see what I am getting. Often the pictures look so bad, they maybe are folded neatly in a pile on the floor and you can see the top three or four items but have no idea what is underneath. When it says 'contains items from Next and M&S' I wonder if it is one nice item from Next, one from M&S and then 10 multipack babygros from Tesco that cost less to buy new than I am paying for the bundle. I would be much more enthusiastic if people posted a more specific description of what the bundle contained, and much clearer pictures. When I find one like that where I actually know what I am getting I may well buy it.
To be honest my baby will probably mostly be in new clothes, because it is fun to shop for them, we don't have to worry about being able to afford them, and while I know a few people who may have a few bits to hand down, there won't be loads coming our way. But as I said above, some changes to the way people list and describe these baby clothes bundles might make me much more enthusiastic about buying them, because I am not specifically against baby wearing second hand clothes at all.0 -
I just sold all of my little girls baby clothes from the last year on ebay - I did them in bundles of ages from newborn, through to 9-12 months. In each bundle there were 100+ items, literally a full wardrobe of clothes for each age group. The amount I got for each varied from £28 (!) to £100. I only got £100 for one of the ages. They were all M&S, Mothercare, Ted Baker and in super condition. I think it all depends on when you list, who is looking at the time, etc etc on what price you get. I always feel really aggrieved when the things I know have cost a small fortune only go for small amounts, LOL! But I think that is generally true for most people, you always feel like your own looked after things are worth more than , in my experience, you will ever likely get on ebay and the like! I don't think its boy/girl specific, I think its the luck of the draw when you're trying to sell them!0

I have had little luck selling my sons clothes, but most are primark, Tu, sainsburys or next. I thought as they weren't posh brands that was reason they wern't selling.
i also bought a lot of 2nd hand stuff from charity or eBay for my LB, however now as he is over 2 I am finding it difficult finding stuff in charity shops to buy for him. So I am having to buy new stuff for him.
However my own baby / toddler clothes (from the 80's) sold as they were labeled vintage!0
