Buying a Bovis Homes New Build House

We are considering buying a new Bovis home and would really like to hear from anyone that has bought a Bovis home: good and bad experiences.
We would also be interested in hearing about negotiations on price and extras. The house we are interested in is the only one of the style on the development (detached three bed), so we don't want to lose the opportunity, but is there room for negotiation?
We have been offered floor tiling in wet rooms, carpets throughout and turf in the rear garden and landscaping to the front. The only other extra we would consider upgrading would be the work surfaces in the kitchen to solid stone, has anyone had any success in having this included?
I appreciate any feedback you can offer

There are some Bovis homes on the same site as us, however we bought ours from Taylor Wimpey. The Bovis homes seemed to have more items as standard such as white goods, turfing, wardrobes. With TW this was an upgrade.
One particular complaint on our site is that Bovis homes do not get Fibre broadband, however the TW houses do.
Do a lot of research before you buy!0 -
How things change, I bought a Bovis house in a hot market years ago, no freebies then, they were all too keen to return the holding deposit any time they could.
I got a gas safety check done on the boiler as it looked suspect, Bovis were back same day to put it right.
Then months of problems with electrics tripping (my house and the one next door), now we have 3 separate RCDs each.0 -
We brought a Bovis home - never again wold we buy a new build - we were on the first phase which was OK but there were loads of problems with the house (generally all minor except no insulation in an insulated cavity! and cracking render that they wanted to fill with polyfiller) other owners had problems as well, but for us it was like living in the middle of a building site for nearly 2 years - early starts, mud, dust, noise and a general lack of consideration apart from a weekend when everything was tidied up. In fairness I think ours was a poor site management issue.0

Thanks for the responses, it has been hard finding recent reviews so this is really helpful.
The development we are looking at has other builders on and we looked at those too and it was two major factors that made us choose Bovis: primarily the house layout and also that as a three bed it is detached (only one of the other developers had a 3 bed detached).
Plus, we felt the finish in the show homes and completed homes they showed us were of a better quality than some of the others (and more finishes come as standard). We looked at a completed Lagan Homes house and one of the doors banged the sink in the bathroom when you opened the door, and in the Barratt houses there were problems with handrails on the stairs not being attached correctly.
This house has no render, so no worries there and it is in the final phase of of the Bovis section and the house backs on to an existing development that Bovis built in the 80's, and the surrounding houses should be finished around the same time as this one in October, which is good news.
Although I am a little alarmed that the price sheet we were given last week with the prices for the current plots have changed online and some of the plot prices have risen by over £5k!0 -
Before you lay the carpets, go around and screw down the floor boards, bovis think nailing is sufficient.
I got no cavity insulation either, but it was built in the dark ages of 2002!0 -

That doesn't sound good!0 -

Nailing IS sufficient. It has been done for decades without issue.
You've just got to use the right nails.
I've bought period properties - all floorboards are nailed - no problem, so your assertion is nonsensical.0 -
We agreed a deal with Bovis about 3 weeks ago. We had a couple of weeks of negotiating but we got stamp duty paid (13k) and 5% off the listed price.0

Oxfordshire - nationwide going to survey the house next week so we have everything crossed.0
