can't open a bank account

The strange thing is that there is no CIFAS marker in all 3 of my credit reports, when I ordered one directly one from CIFAS there was one marker, which LLoyds bank said they have removed it. But I think they haven't because they also said that they would remove the "default" from my account, which has still not been removed after 6 weeks.0

My advice is do something positive while you're exploring the whys and wherefores with the banks. That "something" I suggest should be going to the sub-prime unbanked financial market: If you need to do direct debits then the Cashplus Gold prepaid mastercard is a good one while if you don't need to do direct debits the Ffrees prepaid VISA Debit Card free account will work well for you. At least you will have somewhere to put income and spend it.
Using a personal account for business is a double-edged sword: First obviously you are breaking the TOS. Second the bank will want to know where the money being deposited came from and if you can't prove that you get a CIFAS will will most likely block most bank account and card applications including the sub-prime cards mentioned above.0 -

As I understand it the credit reference agencies only show markers where you have been the victim of fraud. This warns banks to carry out extra ID checks to make sure it is really you applying, if you have one of these markers.
To see the full range you have to check with CIFAS, as you have done.0 -
A few days ago I applied for Co-operative cash minder account, today I received a letter saying that the account couldn't be opened. I don't understand why. Is there any other database apart from CIFAS that could be holding any negative information about me?
Yes there is, fraud information may be shared between institutions. If Lloyds marked your account as fraudulent this information may be visible to other banks upon your application. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
