Ah - not just me then ....


Have failed entirely to alert anyone at MSE Towers as the MSE peeps don't accept PM's & apart from sending a carrier pigeon I cannot fathom out how to make contact.


At least now I know there's a delay.

Dark Star, you DID make contact. You wrote about it here, in the discussion board that MSE provide. And you got an answer. As for how to contact MSE, there are a variety of ways that they provide:

At the top right of the forum home page it says “We run the MSE forum” and you can click there for contact information.

I’ve occasionally pmed MSE staff associated with this forum directly. I don’t do this often, because I feel it would be an abuse to do so, but I have very occasionally done so, and always got a helpful and friendly response.

I would guess they don’t want to overly encourage people to contact MSE personnel directly, because they would be inundated with queries, most of which could be answered elsewhere, as happened with this issue.

Unlike most comps posted here, the MSE book giveaways are not run for profit, but because they get hold of a number of books, and offer them to us free of charge. They take the time to administrate this, and to cover all associated costs. We are a small part of the site they run. We get a lot from using this forum and pay nothing for it. I think it’s important to remember that, rather than risk ‘biting the hand that is feeding us’.

I attempted to contact MSE staff.


You cannot PM them
You cannot reply to the thread about the original giveaway.


I got an auto reply using the contact us info but nothing further.


I escalated the non reply using the allocated ticket number as per their instructions.


Still no reply.


I did not start this thread - though I did think about doing one.


It would have been nice IF someone at MSE Towers could have bothered to acknowledge my query but all I had was auto responses & nothing further.


Cannot see how a board guide would be able to help unless they have a direct line to MSE staff.

Sorry Dark Star, I said it badly. I do appreciate that you didn't start this thread. What I meant was that you got an answer to your question via this thread. So that shows one way to contact MSE that worked.

I've contacted MSE peeps by pm before, so some of them must be pm-able. I won't name them, cos I'm not sure that would be fair to them

And I can see that it's frustrating to get an auto response to a query that doesn't answer what you're asking. But again, you could always post about it at site feedback if you want.

I just mean that there are a number of ways to communicate here. It's certainly not perfect, but it's not a bad service for the fee we pay
