Insulating a shed without polystyrene

I need some advice on insulating my shed but I don't want to use polystyrene as it's going to be used as a play house for my daughter.

Can anyone tell me whether there is a cheap(ish) insulating option that isn't flammable?

I would think if you put the words 'non flammable insulation' into Dr Google you might get about 207,000 hits ??
I dont't think cheapish & safety work side by side though !!

What about ordinary rockwool or something like Kingspan - nothing is going to be cheap. I would have thought that a shed was relatively flammable
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

What is in the shed that is likely to set fire to the polystyrene, or the shed?

large roll bubblewrap and then sheet over it with some hardboard to stop it getting played with.
That's about as cheap as i can think of doing it.

Probably won't be that warm but it depends on how insulated you want it to be.

What's wrong with polystyrene, if you buy from minster etc. its not flammable, but will obviously give off fumes if burned. I certainly wouldn't worry if its just a playhouse.
You wont beat the installation for the price for polystyrene

I can assure you, sir, that polystyrene, being a carbon compound, is flammable.

It may be that a flame retardant (typically a brominated ester) is added or incorporated to the product, it is still flammable when subjected to an external flame source.

There's no smoke (or in your example, fumes) without fire ;)

I too was worried about this when I used some in a shed, so took a blow torch to it, it did not ignite.
Just make sure you get the right one.

Insulating a shed will not make it any warmer than the outside temperature...unless you put a heat source inside it, in which case the insulation will help to retain that heat.
