Acer liquid Z5 5" smart phone bargain in ASDA.
ASDA are selling this phone for just £95, I've bought one and I'm very impressed with it, it is sold unlocked although comes with an ASDA sim. It must be selling well (as soon as it's on the website it's sold out again). Just sent off for the cover to protect the screen (only £1 from ASDA, £22.50 elsewhere).

Meh...
Nothing special here.
Maybe this time last year it would have been a good buy.0 -
For me a 5" screen is much better than 4.5".0

I take your point but its also about screen quality.....not just size.
A high quality 4.5" screen is more acceptable than a lower quality 5" screen.
Moto G is a much better phone.
Acer screen 480x854.....196 ppi .
Moto G screen 720x1280....326 ppi .
Iphone 5s screen 640x1136....326ppi
Even the now dated Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 has 246 ppi pixel density.0 -

The density can be increased by reducing the size of the screen. Who needs 2.5'' screen with 392 ppi density? Tablets generally have much lower ppi than phones. Is it a problem?0 -

That depends on distance. People tend to hold tablets further away than phones. That is kinder on your eyes.
You'll see endless arguments on TV forums about how much difference Hd tvs make. Usually people who say they don't see a difference in HD tvs / channels have bought a bigger tv and moved much further away. The optimum viewing distance for 42" screen is about 10 feet, much closer than most people think.0 -
I am no expert, but IMO 'ppi' is pretty much meaningless, if not misleading, parameter for mobiles. It's the number of pixels that is important, not the density.
Point taken.....but a 720x1280 screen is much better than a 480x854 screen.0 -
Agreed, a lower resolution big screen is going to look nasty when compared to a higher resolution smaller screen, especially the difference is only 0.5".0
