Life Insurance with family history of cancer

We're moving house and with the new mortgage term my husband will be 66 when its paid off (although we are aiming to shave a few years off it as it progresses). We need to take out new life insurance to cover the new mortgage but the issue is with his family history as both his parents died of cancer, one at 64 years old. These were smoking related and my husband is fit and healthy and a non smoker. I have been told that insurance companies will ask about family history up to cut off 60 years old or 65 years old. But I cant find this info anywhere. Does anyone know which insurance companies have the family history of 60?

Thanks

Insurers are concerned with applicants aged over 40 whose relative(s) died before age 60, of what could be considered a hereditary disease.

An IFA will be able to advise you on the most appropriate form of cover and most likely provider for your history.

We have seen one - well a mortgage advisor but she only uses one place. The quote seems reasonable but I would like to do a compare. But the ones I have contacted so far are all for family history up to age 65.

A tied agent is never the right route for protection.

You need someone who has the whole market to select from, who can ask the insurer for its opinion in advance.

We used a broker, some companies were wanting £90pcm to cover my husband! We eventually found lifesearch and they arranged a policy with Axa that included my husbands own history of cancer from when he was a child. For less than £10pcm. Sadly it did come back after 25yrs but fair play to Axa they handled it well and paid out swiftly.
