Take the hard drive out of the PC. There's guides all over YouTube and the Internet on how to.
Either;
Install the HDD as a secondary HDD in another desktop, or
Install the HDD in a USB caddy and connect it to a USB port on another PC
And copy/paste the photos from the old drive to somewhere on the new. Don't fret about 'infections', you won't be running from the operating system on the old HDD, and the likelihood of picking anything nasty from moving some photos is low, low, low.0 -
Thanks to the last poster the make of the computer is Time model no is 20005mq91g40
-
If it's a TIME PC, it's possibly an IDE HDD. A Live CD/DVD will work with both kinds.
Seems some of the later models had a SATA HDD.0 -
The easiest thing might be to open the case and have a look.
If the hard drive is connected by a wide ribbon cable, then it is an IDE drive.

If it's connected by a thinner cable, then it's a SATA drive.

(doesn't have to be red)
Both types will also have power cables attached.
You can buy an adaptor that can connect any drive (sata or IDE) up to a computer via USB.

That's a bit pricey though for a one off transfer.
This caddy also claims to take both types.

If you found out which type your drive is, a specific caddy would be cheaper.0 -
- Open the old PC and take the HDD out
- Buy a USB caddy or adapter and put the HDD in
- Connect to USB on your new PC
- Copy/paste or drag the photos to a new location
- Format the old drive and use it for extra storage.

3.5". Is it IDE or SATA?
If you have another Desktop PC and you're not afraid to to look inside, you may be able to use something as simple as this0 -
someone said if it was a wide ribbon it was ide which it was so would that help in determining the size0
-
a ruler would too. Desktops are 3.5", laptops 2.5 , ide/pata is a wide ribbon connector - google it.!!
