Renting Expenses

Hi all - I'm new here and need some help!

Me and my boyfriend are moving into a 2-bedroom house in Grays, Essex at the end of the year and even though I'm good with figures, I'm not to sure what to expect.

I've looked at a few sites and wondered if anyone could shed some lights on monthly payments for water/gas/electricity etc.

We are most likely going to pay our TV licence and council tax annually, and the rent is already sorted.

Any advice would be appreciated,

thanks :)

Look at the EPC for the property, that will give you an idea of energy costs.
  • The EPC is really helpful - its dated in 2011 - so would the prices on it have changed by much ?

Impossible to tell you unless you advise how the house is heated and hot watered-does it have gas CH and DHW? If not, all electric heating is about 300% more expensive.
Water costs will depend on whether it's metered or RV billing-if the former you can work out the cost from the RV.
And don't forget phone and broadband, contents insurance...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
