Nothing to add as good advice provided. Just to re-iterate: don't respond in detail. Save it for arbitrtation.

    a) a short reply: "I am in receipt of your letter dated xx/xx/14. I do not accept the claims made. I am requesting the xxx scheme return my deposit in full. If you are not in agreement with this the matter will go to arbitration, or the Small Claims Court. Yours sincerely, "

    b) log onto dispute scheme and make a claim for your deposit.

    c) save your detailed response for the dispute.
  • Thanks G_M, was hoping you'd be along soon and I was also hoping you'd back the advice of the other folk who've posted, which you duly have.

I've followed said advice and will be looking forward to getting my deposit back ;)
