Swimming with tiny baby

Where can you get a swim nappy to fit a 8 week old baby weighing around 10½ lbs?

Huggies Little Swimmers smallest size starts from 16lb's so it will be massive on her.

I've tried buying a fabric swim nappy in age 3-6 months as that was the smallest size, but that's too big for her too.

What happens if they go swimming in a normal nappy? Does it go really bulky?
Here I go again on my own....

the motherease swim ones start at about 10lbs for the small (10 - 18llbs) - not sure what the fit is like though

    Hi

I took my 7 week old swimming on Sunday and had the same problem. I know that Boots to a swim nappy (reusable) at 0-3 months. We ended up getting one from Mothercare but had to get 3-6 months as they did not have smaller in stock. This fitted him fine as you hold them all the time so it could not come off if it wanted to!! lol try sticking one in the bath and see ;)

The swim pants are usually quite tight to get on, it may be worth trying the bigger one to see if it's okay.....

Becles, I was going to suggest just a swimming costume or some kind of bottoms she could wear, but most places only start them from 3 months old.

Only thing I can think of, is a normal nappy (which will bulk up btw) and a pair of 3 month old swimming bottoms over it as they would fit snugly over the nappy.

If you put the smallest swim nappy (huggies or whichever make you choose) on under a baby bathing costume its usually fine. Or if you're like my husband you just put a normal nappy on and hope the wife doesn't find out!!

As said, the smallest swim nappy under a full costume will be fine. If the cossie is a bit big, the nappy will help fill it too.

Don't use a normal one! You'll have trouble lifting her when you get out - they go massive and very heavy!

At what age will a baby have had enough vaccinations to go in a public pool?

Recommendations are you dont need to wait for any jabs before you can take your baby swimming. There are kids out there never had any jabs and nothing stops them going.

The Kushies swim nappies are adjustable so the smallest size should fit.

    Hi

We took our daughter from 6 weeks old and just used the smalles swimming nappy from Boots and her swim suit over the top. This was fine. You won't be in the watter that long to start with because baby gets cold quickly, and it does seam like a lot of effort for 10 or 15 mins swimming but it is so worth it. My daughter is now 15 months and we swim twice a week and she loves it.

Hope your little one enjoys swimming!
