Concert Tickets presale and general sale

From my experience, unless it's a general admission non seated gig, never touch pre-sale tickets. It's a false market to sell inferior seats while fans are in that "panic" state.0

Saw tickets on stubhub at ridiculous prices. Not prepared to pay 5 times face value so if don't get tickets for Glasgow will try and get them for different venues. DD has seen them in concert before and says they are great live.
Definitely not my type of music but I am the saint that endured a Miley Cyrus concert too. I keep telling kids to remember these sacrifices when I am old(er) and need my nappy changed!0 -
I've never had to pay a tout or "secondary agent" for a ticket in my life. I've done full tours with only tickets for about half of the dates, but still managed to get in all venues. Tickets get released even when the official agencies post "sold out" notices.
For what it's worth here is my advice-
1. Try the general sale in the morning.
2. "Sold Out" and no ticket? Keep looking at the agency sites, as a percentage of the ticket sales will fail because of card issues. Also when they are confident of high demand they put up the "sold out" notice whilst they sort out how many they have left, these get released later.
3. Still no ticket? Try fan sites. They hate touts too and will generally sell fan to fan at cost.
4. Nearer the date, production hold tickets get released. These are usually the best tickets, when in seated venues.
5. On the day, up to an hour or so beforehand, venues can release tickets.0 -
In addition if you have no luck then keep an eye on the secondary sites closer to the time as they are often reduced to below face value as sellers try to offload them0

As Mum to a 14 year old DD and someone who has braved the 1D fracas on 3 occasions I feel your pain OP. Tomorrow at 9.50am will find me poised at the laptop ready to enter the fray once again0

I really doubt it will be that hard.
I've never failed to get a ticket first time and I've been to an awful lot of concerts with artists a million times bigger than the Vamps.0 -

Yep me too!
The venue she wants tickets for aren't using the full capacity of the arena for this gig, so it means there'll be less than usual available.
Maybe I'm just mentally scarred after the 1D chaos!0 -
I am definitely going to try for better seats tomorrow!
I think you have been lucky, Buzzybee90, we have always struggled to get seats for several gigs in Glasgow.
We have always been live music fans, going to everything from The Clash to Texas to Hue and Cry to the Stones.
So we have tried to encourage our children to do the same and the girls have been to various concerts from to Rihanna, Westlife, Chris Brown and now 1D, Vamps and the newest craze 5SOS. (I do not include the many, many Singing Kettle gigs we went to over 15 years and 4 children, funnily enough it was the boys who like them the most)
I remember trying to get Eminem tickets for my nephew a few years ago and the lines were in meltdown!
Anyway, I will be flinging that card about again tomorrow, and I just got the 1 Direction tickets for Murrayfield yesterday!
I just want to go and see Linkin Park and Placebo :-)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Quick update.
Got great seats for concert. Daughter sooo excited. Went back to try and get some for niece, single seats only left. Thankfully that is sister's problem.0 -

Well done! We didn't get tickets unfortunately (I think Buzzybee jinxed me). Hopefully there'll be more dates announced.
